Verlaine here,
No, I was not named for the 1958 Ford which never made it past the design phase. Nor was I named in memory of a strange fungal infection my Great Great Aunt Euphoemia had during the Great Depression, (her whole life). And, alas, you would be wrong to assume that I was named for a hair implement perhaps commonly used to help ease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles of the eye area in the late 1920's. I am named for a little known trade wind that blows fiercely in the Straits of Mackinac region of my beloved home-state, Michigan. This wind blows unexpectedly and suddenly, once taking aloft with it a tiny car made in Yugoslavia and its fast driving owner. $3990.00 never went so high or far. Although it has been many years since 1989's, "Day of the Deadly NW Verlaine" on the Mackinac Bridge, pay mind; Verlaine could strike at any moment! September is a particularly devastating month.
Verlaine aside, I'm just a city boy, born and raised in south Detroit. I took a midnight train going anywhere. I have NOT stopped believing. (really, I'm a west-side Detroiter, but I got entirely bored trying to find a song that reflected that. Not being overly fond of referring to the "West SYeeeeeed" of any metropolitan city, I have to rely on Journey to do the talking for me.)
Politically Correct, I am not. I shall, with this blog, leave no stone unturned. Even if the stone I turn happens to be one under which I am currently residing. Pfeffurneusse is a spiced cookie, hard as the day is long, best dunked until drowned. Do not attempt resuccitation! If the lord meant for the pfeffernuesse to go onto see another day, it would have been accidentally broiled and thusly turned into a Christmas tree ornament.
This done, I have to find a new pseudonym with which to post on The Lynne Show. Verlaine seems to have developed a rather distinct personality suddenly. Oh what fun it is to bitch!
